Unpaid charge: what happens?

An expired card or a declined charge can happen. Klarity never cuts off your access overnight: a warning alerts you and a grace period gives you time to settle. This article describes what happens, step by step.

Understanding an unpaid charge

When a charge fails, your subscription moves to the Payment pending status. A banner appears at the top of the app showing the number of days left to update your payment method. The tone becomes more insistent as the deadline approaches, and on the last day the message says access will be suspended today if nothing is settled.

Your data is never lost during this phase: clients, sessions and the smart memory stay intact. Only access can be temporarily suspended at the very end.

Settling the payment

  1. Click Update payment in the banner, or open Plan & billing.
  2. On the Overview tab, use Update card to fix your payment method.
  3. Once the charge goes through, the banner disappears and the status returns to Active.

Past the grace period without settling, the subscription is suspended: a Subscription suspended screen blocks access to the app until payment. Your data is kept and you get it back as soon as you settle.

💡 Tip: update your card at the first warning. It's the simplest way to avoid any interruption of access to your sessions and your smart memory.
