The end-of-engagement booklet

Feature available on the Signature plan (unlocked during the free trial).

The end-of-engagement booklet is a premium PDF you offer a client at the end of their journey: the AI writes it from their full memory (session summaries, commitments, themes, goals), you review it, brand it, then download it and hand it over yourself.

Understanding the booklet

The booklet retraces the path your client has travelled: progress, common thread, milestones, topics worked on, commitments and recommendations for what comes next. The AI writes it in one pass from the memory built up session after session — the better documented the engagement, the richer the booklet.

Everything happens in the Booklets tab of the client record. Each booklet appears there with its status: Generating (AI writing), Draft (ready to review and edit), PDF ready (downloadable) or Failed. The row also shows the period covered and the generation date ("Generated on {date} at {time}").

The booklet is part of the Signature plan. On another plan, the tab presents the feature with an Unlock button leading to the plans grid. During your trial, it is available whatever plan you are considering.

Klarity never sends the booklet to the client: you download it and hand it over through the channel of your choice. For a client followed in French, the AI writes using the formal or informal address set in the Wording field of the AI writing card (client record › Settings tab); in other languages, the booklet is automatically written in the client's language.

Generating a booklet

  1. On the client record, open the Booklets tab and click Generate a booklet. The New end-of-engagement booklet dialog opens.
  2. Start session and End session — set the period covered (only completed sessions in that range feed the booklet). Leave Whole engagement to cover the full journey. Inverted combinations are automatically disabled: the end cannot come before the start.
  3. Content template — the editorial structure of the booklet (sections and writing style). Standard model fits most cases; if you have created your own booklet templates in Settings › AI templates, they appear here, with your default template preselected.
  4. Depth — sets the level of detail and length: Concise, Standard or Deep (the default, which also enables the analytical sections such as the common thread and excerpts).
  5. Emphasis (optional) — steers the focus of the writing: Progress & results, Skills acquired, Relational dynamics, Autonomy gained, Recommendations. Leave empty for balanced coverage.
  6. Click Generate draft. Writing starts in the background: a waiting screen details the steps (reading the memory, structuring the outline, writing, laying out) and the booklet is usually ready within one to two minutes.

You can leave the page while it generates: the booklet keeps writing itself and its status switches to Draft on its own in the Booklets tab.

Two special cases at launch:

  • No completed session — the dialog tells you: a booklet is generated from past sessions. Come back after the first completed sessions.
  • Generation failure — the booklet switches to Failed with the cause (for example no session with a summary in the period, or an interrupted writing pass) and a Retry button.

If the chosen period contains few sessions, a warning tells you the booklet will be brief — widen the period for richer content.

Reviewing and editing the draft

Click a booklet to open its editor: the content on the left, a preview on the right.

  • Booklet title — the heading that will appear on the cover. It is required to generate the PDF.
  • Sections — the booklet is split into collapsible sections (Expand all / Collapse all). For each one you can change its heading, rewrite its content, hide it (eye icon — it is marked Hidden and left out of the PDF) or move it with the up/down arrows.
  • Formatting — text is edited rich: bold, highlight, bullet lists, quotes, colored callouts and links. A character counter sits under each section.
  • Autosave — there is no Save button: the indicator at the top switches from Saving… to Saved · {time}. On failure, a Retry button appears, and a confirmation holds you back if you leave with unsaved changes.

The editor's Content template selector lets you Regenerate the booklet on another structure. Careful: a fresh version is written from scratch — the current content and your edits are not carried over.

The right-hand preview is indicative: it shows the content, not the final layout — the real rendering (cover, table of contents, pagination) applies to the PDF.

Customizing the look

  • Template — the visual style of the PDF, from five options: Sober, Warm, Corporate, Editorial and Minimal. Change it directly in the editor (thumbnails), or set your Default template in Settings › Booklet.
  • Accent color — the color applied to the cover and headings, in Settings › Booklet.
  • Logo — the Show the organization logo option (Settings › Booklet) places your logo at the top of the booklet. The logo itself is added in Settings › Organization (upload with cropping, like the profile photo).

Generating the PDF and handing it over

  1. Once the content is reviewed, click Generate the PDF (top right of the editor). Rendering takes a few moments, then a Your PDF is ready. message confirms.
  2. The booklet switches to PDF ready: download it via Download, from the editor or the list row.
  3. Hand the file to your client through the channel of your choice — personal email, print, in person.

If you edit the content after a first render, the button becomes Regenerate the PDF: run it again so the downloaded file reflects your latest changes.

Deleting a booklet

From the menu on the row (or in the editor), choose Delete the booklet, then confirm with Delete permanently.

Deleting a booklet is permanent and irreversible: the draft and its PDF are erased. It does not affect the client's memory in any way — you can generate a new booklet at any time.

💡 Tip: generate the booklet a few days before the last session: you can review it calmly, then hand it to the client during the closing session — a real moment of recognition for the journey.
