Session Insights: talk-time, questions, blind spots

Feature available from the Professional plan (unlocked during the free trial).

After each captured session, Klarity analyzes the dynamics of the exchange and lays it out in the Insights tab: who spoke and how much, which questions you asked, which topics were left aside. It is an automatic reflective debrief, designed as a supervision tool for your own stance.

Understanding the Insights tab

On a session page, the Insights tab appears between Summary and Enrich, as soon as the session analysis has been generated. It applies to captured one-to-one sessions (recorded video call, in-person capture or imported audio): a group session has no Insights, and neither does a manual-notes session — the analysis relies on the actual transcript of the exchange.

For your eyes only — this working material is never shown or sent to the client. A reminder at the top of the tab says so; you can dismiss it and it won't come back.

Insights are included from the Professional plan. On the Starter plan, the tab stays visible but shows a presentation screen with the Unlock button: your past sessions are already analyzed — they'll show up the moment you upgrade.

Talk-time split

The first block shows each speaker's share of the conversation, with their share in %, word count and turns. Your row carries the You badge when Klarity could identify you.

The share reads on two scales, never mixed:

  • Share of actual speaking time — when every speaker is correctly timestamped, the split shows as real time, with a ≈ {count} min for each speaker.
  • Share of words spoken — otherwise it falls back to words spoken across the session (not minutes), and no duration is shown.

If speakers couldn't be identified automatically, a message says so and labels are shown as recorded (for example Speaker 1, Speaker 2).

Silences

When the data is available, a Silences block shows how much of the session was spent in silence, with a ≈ {count} min across the session marker.

Silence is a coaching tool, not a flaw — it gives the client room to think.

This block only appears when the analysis could measure silences: on older transcripts the data may be missing, and the block is then hidden.

Recurring words

The Recurring words block lists the terms that came up most during the session, each with its occurrence count. A word that keeps coming back ("doubt", "time", "legitimacy"…) is often a thread worth pulling.

On a very short session, this block may come out sparse or empty, with the Not enough material to surface message ("No word came up often enough to stand out — common for a very short session."). That's normal, not a bug: Klarity filters out filler words and only shows the ones that genuinely recur.

Questions asked

The Questions asked block gathers the questions you asked, in the order they came up during the session. At the top, a counter gives the total and the split: {openPct}% open questions · {closedPct}% closed questions. Each question carries an Open or Closed badge. It is a direct mirror of your stance: many closed questions can signal a more directive mode than intended.

Topics left unexplored

The Topics left unexplored block spots threads the client raised that the session didn't dig into — material to prepare the next one. Each topic may come with a short client quote, taken verbatim from the session.

Time orientation

When the analysis allows it, a final block places the client's words in time: mostly turned toward the past, anchored in the present, turned toward the future or spread across all three — sometimes with an explanatory note.

Special cases

  • Qualitative analysis unavailable — the qualitative part (questions, topics, time orientation) may occasionally fail to generate. A Qualitative analysis unavailable notice then appears; the factual metrics (talk-time, recurring words) remain displayed and accurate.
  • Timestamp — the tab footer notes Analysis generated on {date}: the analysis is produced once, right after the session is processed, and doesn't change afterwards.
  • Locked session — Insights stay readable even once the session reaches Summary locked.

💡 Tip: compare the share of open questions from one session to the next with the same client — it is one of the most telling indicators to work on your stance between two supervisions.
