Consent withdrawal (client side)
A client can withdraw their consent at any time, fully on their own. This article explains, as a coach, what happens then and how the withdrawal is reflected in Klarity.
Understanding withdrawal on the client side
Withdrawal is a GDPR right: it's free, requires no justification and has no consequence on the coaching itself. The client doesn't need to contact you — they act alone from the link they received. The withdrawal page displays in their language and clearly presents the consequences before any confirmation.
What the client does on their side
- The client opens their personal withdrawal link — the one received by email in the confirmation sent when they validated their consent (not the initial invitation link). The withdrawal page displays in their language.
- They choose to withdraw their agreement and confirm in a confirmation window.
- At the moment of withdrawal, the client chooses what happens to their past summaries: keep them (recommended) or permanently delete them. If they don't have any summarized session yet, this choice doesn't appear — there's nothing to keep.
Withdrawal is immediate and irreversible on the audio side: any residual audio still in retention is deleted. The client can give their consent again later by clicking the initial link.
What you see on the coach side
- The file status switches to Withdrawn and you receive a notification ("{client} withdrew their consent").
- You can no longer record new sessions in the modes that require consent.
- Past sessions and summaries stay accessible — unless the client chose to have them deleted at the moment of withdrawal.
Force withdrawal from the client file
At a client's request (by phone, email…), you can record the withdrawal yourself: on the file, Consent tab, Force consent withdrawal block, Force withdrawal button. The status then switches to Withdrawn, as if the client had done it themselves. This action only appears when the status is Consent OK — there's nothing to withdraw as long as the agreement hasn't been given.
