What is Memory Chat?
Memory Chat is the screen where you talk with Memo, your assistant. It answers your questions by drawing on your coaching memory — all of your sessions, summaries and notes. Ask a question in plain language and Memo finds the answer for you, instead of re-reading your notes one by one before each session.
Understanding Memory Chat
Session after session, Klarity builds a memory of each engagement: transcripts, summaries, and notes you add. Memo queries that memory on your behalf. You type a question — "Where does Sophie stand on her relationship to authority?", "What blockers keep coming up for my clients in transition?" — and Memo composes a synthesized answer, citing the sessions it used as sources.
Memo introduces itself when you open the screen ("Hello, I'm Memo"). Keep the distinction in mind: "Memory Chat" is the screen, "Memo" is the assistant that answers you.
The three modes
Memory Chat works in three modes, which determine what Memo consults and the form of its answer:
- Client mode — a conversation focused on one specific client, to prepare a session or review a trajectory.
- Practice mode — a qualitative exploration across your whole practice, all clients combined, to spot patterns and recurrences (anonymized citations).
- Pilot mode — volume and activity-counter questions (sessions, clients, weekly load), with numeric answers.
Each mode is detailed in its own article, linked below.
Asking a question and following the answer
Type your question in the input field at the bottom, then Send (or Ctrl/⌘ Enter). Memo thinks for a moment ("Memo is thinking · reviewing the relevant sessions…"), then writes its answer as it goes, word after word, as if typing right in front of you — you don't have to wait for the full answer to start reading.
While Memo is writing, the send button turns into a Stop button: click it to interrupt the answer in progress. The text already written is kept and marked Response stopped; a Retry button re-runs the same question if needed.
Your conversations and your starters
Your exchanges with Memo are kept. The left-hand list groups your conversations (a Favorites section pins the ones you've starred at the top); from View all history, you open the Conversations page (/chat/history) to find them, filter them by mode or client, and delete them in bulk.
To save time on your recurring questions, the My starters row (below the input field) offers your saved questions, ready to re-run in one click. The Manage my starters button lets you create, edit and reorder them, mode by mode.
