Configure your sessions & memory

The Sessions & memory tab brings together everything about how a session unfolds: how it is recorded, how consent is collected, when the briefing is ready, and how Klarity draws on your clients' memory.

Understanding the Sessions & memory tab

Open Settings › Sessions & memory (Settings left menu). The page is split into five sections — Session recording, Consent, Pre-session briefing, Smart memory, Memory Chat — followed by a shortcut to settings managed elsewhere. As everywhere in Settings, your changes only take effect after you click Save changes (bar at the bottom of the page).

Session recording

This section controls the capture of your video sessions.

  • Recording start — your choice of: Automatic, Never, or Ask every session.
  • Visible recording signal — shows an indicator during the session to flag that it is being recorded.
  • Review before summary lock — keeps the summary editable during the enrichment window before locking it. When off, the summary is finalized immediately.
  • Enrichment window — the period during which you can still complete your notes after a session (from 1 hour to manual). This setting is greyed out if the review above is disabled (the summary is then locked right away).
  • Recording bot name — the name under which the Klarity assistant joins your video call (left blank, the default name applies). This is the name you admit into the Meet, Zoom or Teams room.
  • Bot arrival message — a message shown in the meeting chat when the assistant arrives (Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams), to inform participants. It is only sent if the visible recording signal is enabled.

💡 Tip: keep Review before summary lock enabled to start with. It lets you correct the transcript before the summary is locked — recommended while you find your feet.

Consent

  • Automatically send the consent link — the link goes out to the client as soon as their record is created.
  • If the client hasn't consented yet — sets the capture modes allowed until consent is given: Text and voice, Text only, Voice only or Disabled.

Pre-session briefing

  • Briefing availability — when the preparation is ready before the session: The day before at 6 pm, The day before at 8 am, 1 h before, or Disabled.
  • Interim check-ins between sessions — automatically sends the client a short message near an engagement's due date, to collect their progress (they reply without creating an account). Their reply enriches the client's memory.

Smart memory

  • Memory depth — the number of past sessions taken into account to prepare the context (from the last 3 sessions to the entire history).

Memory Chat

  • Default mode — the mode opened by default in Memory Chat: Ask every time, Client mode, Practice mode or Pilot mode. Pilot mode carries a Pro badge (available from the Professional plan).
  • History retention — how long conversations are kept: 30 days, 90 days or Unlimited.
  • Anonymize citations — in practice mode, citations are anonymized ("a client mentioned…"). A GDPR-compliant badge confirms the state.

Settings managed elsewhere

At the bottom of the page, the Settings per session type shortcut links to a dedicated screen: the report email, the automatic summary, the questionnaire and the reminder are configured per session type, via the Manage session types button (an Agenda tab).

Good to know: the structure and tone of the summary and the report email are not set here but in Settings › AI templates, a full entry in the Settings left menu.
