Your data and your privacy

The Privacy screen gives you a clear view of what Klarity stores for your practice, for how long, and how to retrieve or control your data. It's your GDPR dashboard.

Understanding the Privacy screen

Open Settings › Privacy & GDPR (Settings left menu). The screen is organized into distinct blocks: an inventory of your data, its retention, the GDPR export, two settings (AI improvement and instant voice preview), and finally account deletion.

Good to know: Klarity never trains any model on your data. Session audio is deleted within 24 hours of the summary being generated.

Your data

The Your data block lists what Klarity keeps for your practice:

Profile and account — your identity, your email and your settings.
Client files — the longitudinal history of each of your clients.
Transcripts and summaries — added to your smart memory.
Enrichment notes — your annotations per client and per session.
Consent logs — kept for the engagement duration + 5 years, in accordance with GDPR.

Data retention

The Data retention block shows how long each category is kept:

Memory Chat history — the duration shown on the block.
Transcripts and summaries — for the whole engagement duration.
Consent logs — engagement + 5 years.

Export my data

Klarity respects your right to portability: you can retrieve all your data at any time.

In the Export my data block, click Export my data.
A message confirms the request is recorded. A ZIP file containing all your data will be sent to you by email (within 24 hours maximum).
If an export is already ready, use Download latest export to retrieve it directly.

Only one export can be in progress at a time. If you relaunch too soon, a message invites you to try again later.

AI improvement

The AI improvement setting lets you choose whether your feedback helps Klarity improve response quality.

The Contribute to improving Klarity's AI toggle turns this contribution on. Your feedback flags the responses worth improving, so our team can adjust the AI's settings.
Your feedback is anonymized and used only to measure and improve quality — no identifiable client verbatim ever leaves your organization. Klarity never trains any model on your data.
Turn the toggle off to opt out: the 👍/👎 buttons stay visible under summaries and Memory Chat messages, but your votes are no longer transmitted.

Instant voice preview

The Instant voice preview setting concerns the dictation of your notes.

The Show text live while dictating toggle shows your words in grey as you speak, before the final transcription.
When enabled, this preview uses your browser's speech recognition, which sends the audio to a third party (Google on Chrome, Apple on Safari). The final transcription always runs on Klarity's servers.

Turned off, dictation stays fully server-side, with no third party. This setting is saved on this device only, and may be unavailable depending on your browser.

Delete my account

The Delete my account block at the bottom of the screen gives access to the permanent deletion of your account and all your data, in line with the GDPR right to erasure. This action is irreversible and follows a dedicated flow.

Deleting your account erases your account, your clients, your sessions and all associated data. The action is irreversible.
