Understanding your tasks

Tasks are your follow-up actions: what you need to do between two sessions, for a client or for your own practice. They save you from keeping a separate list — everything stays in Klarity, right next to your clients and sessions.

Understanding tasks

A task is a simple action to carry out, with a title and, if you like, a due date and a linked client. Each task has only two states: to do or done. Depending on where it comes from, a task can carry a badge:

  • created by hand — no badge, this is the default case;
  • suggested by Memo — a Memo badge, when you adopt a suggestion from the Memory Chat;
  • from an engagement — an Engagement badge, when the task stems from a commitment made by a client (trajectory tracking). This badge links to the Trajectory tab of the client's record.

Tasks replace an external to-do list: "follow up with Sophie on her goal", "prepare Marc's quarterly review", "send the summary of yesterday's session".

The Tasks screen views

From the side menu, the Tasks entry opens your list. A badge on this entry shows the number of tasks to handle right now — those overdue or due today; it turns amber as soon as at least one task is overdue, and disappears when there's nothing urgent. Ongoing tasks are automatically split by due date across tabs:

  • Today — tasks due today, along with overdue ones (due date in the past), shown first so nothing escapes you.
  • This week — tasks due within the next six days.
  • Later — tasks whose due date is beyond this week.
  • No date — tasks you created without a due date.
  • Done — the history of what's finished; you can always reopen a task from here.

The client filter at the top of the screen narrows the list to a specific client, to "No client", or to everyone. Handy for preparing someone's follow-up before their next session.

Where to find your tasks

Your tasks appear in two places, always in sync:

  • On the Tasks page, the full view described above.
  • On each client record, a dedicated block gathers the tasks linked to that client (tabs To do / Done), with a View all link to the full page.

Tasks are included from the Professional plan (and free during the trial). On the Starter plan, the entry stays visible with a lock and shows a preview of the feature.

💡 Tip: give your important tasks a due date. That's what makes them surface in Today or This week at the right moment — a task without a date stays quietly in the No date tab.
