# What is Memory Chat?

| Feature available from the **Professional** plan (unlocked during the free trial).

Memory Chat is the screen where you talk with **Memo**, your assistant. It answers your questions by drawing on **your coaching memory** — all of your sessions, summaries and notes. Ask a question in plain language and Memo finds the answer for you, instead of re-reading your notes one by one before each session.

# Understanding Memory Chat

Session after session, Klarity builds a memory of each engagement: transcripts, summaries, and notes you add. **Memo** queries that memory on your behalf. You type a question — "Where does Sophie stand on her relationship to authority?", "What blockers keep coming up for my clients in transition?" — and Memo composes a synthesized answer, citing the sessions it used as sources.

Keep the distinction in mind: "Memory Chat" is the screen, "Memo" is the assistant that answers you.

| The memory fills up as your sessions are processed: the more sessions you capture and enrich, the more precise the answers.

# The five modes

Memory Chat works in **five modes**, which determine what Memo consults and the form of its answer:

- **Client mode** — a conversation focused on one specific client, to prepare a session or review a trajectory.
- **Practice mode** — a qualitative exploration across your whole practice, all clients combined, to spot patterns and recurrences (anonymized citations).
- **Pilot mode** — volume and activity-counter questions (sessions, clients, weekly load), with numeric answers.
- **Group mode** — a conversation focused on one group or workshop, to query the shared memory of its participants.
- **Company mode** — a conversation focused on one client company, across all its people.

Each mode is detailed in its own article, linked below.

# Asking a question and following the answer

Type your question in the input field at the bottom, then **Send** (or <kbd>Ctrl/⌘ Enter</kbd>). Memo keeps you posted on its progress: it thinks first ("Memo is thinking · reviewing the relevant sessions…"), announces what it found ("N sessions found · writing the answer…"), then **writes its answer as it goes**, word after word, as if typing right in front of you — you don't have to wait for the full answer to start reading. When the question lends itself to it, the answer can include **tables** to compare or recap.

While Memo is writing, the send button turns into a **Stop** button: click it to **interrupt** the answer in progress. The text already written is kept and marked **Response stopped**; a **Retry** button re-runs the same question if needed.

| If streaming isn't available on your connection, Memo automatically falls back to a single-block answer — the content is identical, only the progressive display changes.

## Restyling an answer in one click

Under each answer, three chips let you have it rewritten in another format, without retyping your question: **Shorter**, **More detailed** or **As a table**. Click the chip you want and Memo regenerates the same answer in that style; the active chip stays marked while that format is displayed.

| The restyle chips don't appear in **Pilot mode**, whose numeric answers have their own format.

# Your conversations and your starters

Your exchanges with Memo are kept. The left-hand list groups your conversations (a **Favorites** section pins the ones you've starred at the top); from **View all history**, you open the **Conversations** page (`/chat/history`) to find them, filter them by mode or client, and delete them in bulk.

To save time on your recurring questions, the **My starters** row (below the input field) offers your saved questions, ready to re-run in one click. The **Manage my starters** button lets you create, edit and reorder them, mode by mode.

| Memo may also offer **suggested tasks** as the conversation unfolds: a **Suggested task** block appears, which you can **Add** to your Tasks.

# Availability

Memory Chat is one of the advanced features: it is included from the **Professional** plan. During your **trial**, it is freely accessible, whatever your plan. If your plan doesn't include it, the screen shows an **Unlock** preview instead of the chat.

The number of questions you can ask each month is **capped by your plan**. An indicator next to your plan badge, at the top of the screen, reminds you where you stand ("N of X questions used this month"). When only a few questions are left, a **You have N questions left this month** banner warns you; once the quota is reached, a **Monthly question quota reached** box replaces the input field, with the renewal date (**Renews on {date}**) and a button to unlock more questions. The counter resets with each billing period.

|| The question quota is **monthly** and depends on your plan. On the **Signature** plan, the lever to get more isn't a plan change but **Contact support**; on the other plans, the CTA offers to **upgrade your plan**.

| 💡 **Tip:** on the chat home screen (**Explore your coaching memory**), each mode shows a ready-to-use example question — a good starting point to discover the tool.
