# Understanding your tasks

| Feature available from the **Professional** plan (unlocked during the free trial).

**Tasks** are your follow-up actions: what you need to do between two sessions, for a client or for your own practice. They save you from keeping a separate list — everything stays in Klarity, right next to your clients and sessions.

# Understanding tasks

A task is a simple action to carry out, with a title and, if you like, a due date and a linked client. Each task has only two states: **to do** or **done**. Depending on where it comes from, a task can carry a badge:

- **created by hand** — no badge, this is the default case;
- **suggested by Memo** — a **Memo** badge, when you adopt a suggestion from the Memory Chat;
- **from an engagement** — an **Engagement** badge, when the task stems from a commitment made by a client (trajectory tracking). This badge links to the **Trajectory** tab of the client's record.

| Tasks replace an external to-do list: "follow up with Sophie on her goal", "prepare Marc's quarterly review", "send the summary of yesterday's session".

# Where to find your tasks and their views

Tasks live in the **To do** hub in the side menu. This hub holds **two tabs**: **To handle** (the queue of sessions and items that need an action) and **Tasks**. Open **To do**, then the **Tasks** tab for your list. The **To do** entry carries a single **badge** flagging what needs your attention right now — items to handle **and** tasks overdue or due today; it turns amber as soon as at least one task is overdue, and disappears when there's nothing urgent. In the **Tasks** tab, ongoing tasks are automatically split by due date:

- **Today** — tasks due today, along with **overdue** ones (due date in the past), shown first so nothing escapes you.
- **This week** — tasks due within the next six days.
- **Later** — tasks whose due date is beyond this week.
- **No due date** — tasks you created without a date.
- **Favorites** — tasks you've pinned with the star, kept in view whatever their due date.
- **Done** — the history of what's finished; you can always reopen a task from here.

| The **client filter** at the top of the screen narrows the list to a specific client, to "No client", or to everyone ("All clients"). You can also filter by group ("All groups"). Handy for preparing someone's follow-up before their next session.

# Where to find your tasks

Your tasks appear in two places, always in sync:

- In the **Tasks** tab of the **To do** hub, the full view described above.
- On each **client record**, a dedicated block gathers the tasks linked to that client (sub-tabs **To do** / **Done**), with a link to the full **Tasks** tab.
- On each **group record**, the same block gathers the tasks linked to that group.

|| Tasks are included from the **Professional** plan (and free during the trial). On the **Starter** plan, the **Tasks** tab of the **To do** hub stays visible with a lock: it opens a preview of the feature and an **Unlock** button to the plans, but you can't create a task yet. The Tasks block on client and group records is locked in Starter too.

| 💡 **Tip:** give your important tasks a due date. That's what makes them surface in **Today** or **This week** at the right moment — a task without a date stays quietly in the **No due date** tab.
