# Create and manage a task

| Feature available from the **Professional** plan (unlocked during the free trial).

A task takes seconds to create, then fills in as you go. This article covers how to add it, flesh it out, link it to a client, mark it as done and delete it.

# Understanding a task

A task always has a **title** (what needs to be done). You can add **notes**, a **due date**, a **color** and a **link** to a client or a group — all optional. A task has only two states: **to do** or **done**. There is no priority and no subtasks: the tool stays deliberately simple, the due date is enough to organize your work. You can, however, **pin** an important task with the star to find it again in the **Favorites** view.

# Create a task

The **New task** button, at the top of the **Tasks** tab (**To do** hub), opens an input panel on the right of the screen.

Only the title is required: to jot down an action quickly, type it and confirm — you'll fill in the rest (due date, client, notes) later by reopening the task.

1. Fill in the **Title** — the only required field.
2. Add **Notes** if you want to keep the context (details, points to cover…).
3. Choose a **Due date**: the **Today** / **Tomorrow** / **No due date** shortcuts, or **Pick a date** for a specific date.
4. Fill in the **Link** if you want to attach the task to a **Client** or a **Group** (pick the type first, then the person or group): the task then also surfaces on their record. You can **unlink** it at any time.
5. Give it a **Color** if you like (or **None**): it's a purely visual marker, shown as an accent bar to the left of the task, that affects neither sorting nor filters.
6. Pin it as a **favorite** with the star if you want to keep it in view in the **Favorites** view (optional).
7. Confirm with **Create task**. To edit an existing task, open it: the same panel appears with **Save**.

| A task created from a client's record (or a group's) is **automatically linked** to that client (or group) — you don't have to re-select them.

# Mark a task as done

Each task shows a **checkbox** to the left of its title.

1. Tick the box: the task moves to **done**, its title is struck through and it joins the **Done** tab.
2. A message immediately offers to **Undo** in case you ticked it by mistake.
3. To reactivate it later, open the **Done** tab and untick it (**Reopen**): it goes back to its original lists.

# Delete a task

Deletion happens from the task panel, via **Delete task** — or, faster, via the trash icon that appears when you hover over the task in the list.

1. The task disappears from the list immediately, and an **Undo** message shows for a few seconds.
2. After that delay, the deletion becomes permanent.

||| Once the undo window has passed, a deleted task can no longer be recovered. For an action that's merely postponed, prefer to **mark it as done** or push back its due date.

| 💡 **Tip:** to postpone a task, no need to recreate it — open it and change its **due date**. It automatically moves back into the right view (Today, This week, Later…).
